What is an AI CMO?

An AI CMO is software that does a chief marketing officer's thinking for a business too small to employ one. It sets the goal, chooses the strategy, writes the plan and reviews the numbers each week, by talking with the owner, and the owner still does the work and makes every change. That last part is the line between an AI CMO and an agency.

Which job is nobody doing in a small business?

Most owner-led businesses have marketing activity and no plan. Posts go out when there is time, an ad runs because a rep rang, the newsletter goes when someone remembers. The job nobody is doing is the CMO's job: deciding what the marketing is for, in one number, and checking every month whether it is getting there.

That job is the expensive one. A full-time CMO is a senior salary. A fractional CMO is a monthly retainer for a day or two a week. An agency's account director is paid to run the account you gave them, and setting your direction is not in the retainer. So the thinking goes undone, and the activity carries on without it. An AI CMO is that thinking priced for a business with five staff.

What does an AI CMO do, and what does it leave to you?

It asks what pain your business solves and for whom, because every message and every keyword comes back to that answer. It agrees one goal with you, dated and in dollars. It reads your numbers (Google Ads, Meta, Google Analytics) before it suggests anything, and it says plainly when it cannot answer yet because the tracking is broken. It writes the plan and checks in weekly.

It does not run your ads, write your posts or change a budget for you. If you want your marketing done for you, an AI CMO is the wrong tool, and so is CoraVision. The owner who gets the most from one is the owner who wants to understand their own marketing and has an hour a week to do it.

What does a CMO answer for a physio practice? (example figures)

A physio practice in Brisbane with two practitioners and $50,000 a month in billings wants $60,000. Three questions a CMO answers, and who answers them today:

The CMO questionThe answer for this practiceWho answers it today
What is the goal?22 more patient courses a month at $450 each, by MarchNobody. "More patients" is the goal on the whiteboard.
Which strategies get there?Reactivate lapsed patients first (cheapest), then Google Ads for "physio near me"The receptionist, between patients
Is it working?Lapsed-patient emails: 14 rebooked in week one. Ads: 400 clicks, 20 bookings, $800The Google Ads rep, who only sees the ads

An AI CMO answers all three, and the third one every week.

How is Cora an AI CMO?

CoraVision is an AI marketing team for small, owner-led businesses. Cora, the AI Chief Marketing Officer, learns your business, builds your marketing plan, and talks you through the work step by step, live on your screen. You talk to Cora out loud, and you make every change yourself.

The first call takes about 25 minutes and needs nothing prepared. After it, you and Cora agree the one number to chase, Cora writes a 12-month plan in three layers (direction, plan, tactics), and Cora checks in weekly. Once Google Ads, Meta and Google Analytics 4 are connected, CoraVision reads them every night. Cora never changes anything in those accounts. When something needs changing, Cora shows you where on your own screen and you click.

Questions

Is an AI CMO the same as an AI marketing agency?

No. An agency does the work for you and bills for it. An AI CMO does the thinking with you and you do the work. If a product calls itself an AI CMO and also posts and runs ads without you, it is an agency with a different name.

What does an AI CMO cost?

Less than a person, by design. CoraVision's pricing will be confirmed closer to the beta, which opens in late 2026.

Can an AI CMO replace a marketing manager?

It replaces the director's thinking, not the hands. A business with a marketing coordinator keeps the coordinator and gives them a plan to work from.
